The play tells the story of Young Marlow, who is sent by his father to the home of Kate Hardcastle,
whom it is hoped he will marry. Confusion arises when he is directed to the Hardcastle home as to an inn,
and assumes that Mr. Hardcastle is the innkeeper, and Kate is the barmaid.

I was asked to design the costumes for this production, which was directed by someone else.
The object was to create costumes of the period in which the play was written, and to make them reflect the
characters of the people wearing them.
